The Equine Sports Massage Association is the product of Mary Bromiley and her foresight to see the many benefits of Equine Massage and a governing body.

The successful students on Mary's first ITEC accredited Equine Sports Massage course developed the association. Since then, ESMA has grown from strength to strength.

ESMA was formed to ensure that the client receives services from a fully trained and qualified equine masseur. It also endeavours to maintain a high standard of practice and code of conduct by all its members.

Mary Bromiley, FCSP, SRP, RPT (USA) has been a practicing chartered physiotherapist for over 35 years. She is world renowned for her outstanding knowledge in this field. Mary was the official physiotherapist for both horse and rider at the Olympics and World Championships for the New Zealand Three Day Event Team. Mary still provides the training, although she holds position as an honoree member of ESMA.

The association now has well over 40 members all over Great Britain and some international members.

Practicing members have all passed the ITEC Diploma in Equine Sports Massage.
All members must be academic in obtaining four GCSE's (or equivalent) at grade C or above including English Language.
All members of ESMA are experienced horse people with years of professional knowledge within a wide diversification of equestrian spheres.
All members of ESMA are qualified in human massage.
All members of ESMA successfully passed a written, practical, veterinary verbal exam and completed a 1000 word dissertation.
Every year members have to complete hours of continual training as development.
All ESMA members hold full insurance.
